FEMALE HORMONE IMBALANCE SOLUTIONS (MENOPAUSE)

Menopause is the natural hormonal change that occurs in women and signals the end of their childbearing years. It is not a disease nor an illness, but a normal transition from one stage in a woman’s life to another. While it is a natural occurrence, it is not without its share of discomfort and it is often accompanied by a myriad of changes within the body that can be unpleasant for the woman during and following menopause. During menopause, hormones previously needed for regulating menses fluctuate wildly. There is no predictable course through menopause, and while some women may find the transition easy, others suffer through it for several years.

Picture

Typical Symptoms of Menopause:
Bleeding irregularities                            Vaginal dryness                            Hot flashes/sweats
Weight gain                                           Changes in sex drive                    Insomnia
Nervousness                                         Irritability                                    Headache
Mood changes                                       Memory loss                                Depression
Skin aging/cosmetic changes                 Osteoporosis                                Anxiety
Increased skin wrinkling                        Atherosclersis                              Altered fat and carbohydrate metabolism

Customized Hormone Replacement
With innovations in hormone testing, it is now possible to establish and monitor a customized hormone replacement program that balances individual hormones and restores emotional, mental, and bodily health.

Using this method, it is possible to:
Customize natural hormone dosing to meet individual needs
Optimize hormone levels for the minimum dose required to relieve symptoms and avoid overdosing
Achieve appropriate and compatible physiologic levels of several hormones
Increase an individuals’ sense of well being by remedying an underlying hormone deficit or imbalance

How is Post-Menopause Hormone Panel Performed?
Using a saliva sample, we test for up to 8 male and female hormones depending on the severity of your symptoms and your clinical needs. Testing establishes a baseline and ongoing levels for hormones, such as testosterone, DHEA, progesterone, estradiol, and cortisol panels. Our staff use the results of the Post-Menopause Hormone Panel to develop a hormone replacement plan that will return hormone levels to a more stable state and reduce or eliminate some of the unpleasant symptoms of menopause.

Advantages of saliva testing
Measures active hormone levels
Easy and convenient collection
Exception specimen stability
Less expensive than blood testing
Four samples collected throughout the day give a more accurate picture of hormone levels
No needles

Hormone Replacement
Physicians employ several treatment strategies to assist women during menopause. The most frequently used method is symptomatic treatment that uses synthetic or natural hormone replacement. Unfortunately, hormone levels vary considerably between women. In fact, the hormone levels between any two women can vary between 200 and 1500%, making it unlikely that the same hormone replacement treatment would be effective for both women.

MALE HORMONE IMBALANCE SOLUTIONS (ANDROPAUSE)

Testosterone plays a critical role in maintaining both physical and mental health.  From the peak in the late teens and early 20's, the production of testosterone begins to taper at approximately age 30.  This physiologic decrease is commonly known as ANDROPAUSE and can cause changes in sexual function, mood, energy level and body composition, but may also have significant impact on cardiovascular risk as men with low and low range testosterone levels are at a greater risk for metabolic and cardiovascular diseases.

In addition to age-related decline, poor diet, lack of exercise, stress and other lifestyle factors can have a significant effect on testosterone levels.

Picture

Some of the symptoms associated with decreased testosterone production in the male body are:

Decreased erectile function                  Insulin resistance                              Metabolic syndrome
Loss of muscle strength                       Loss of muscle mass                          Fatigue
Weight gain                                        Trouble urinating                               Prostate problems
Bone loss                                           Cardiovascular Disease                       Hot flashes
Hair loss                                             High cholesterol                                 Decreased libido
Burned out feeling                               Increased pain                                   Brain fog
Forgetfulness                                       Mood swings                                     Depression
Anxiety                                               Cravings                                           Infertility

If you are experiencing 5 or more of the above symptoms, you should have the hormone test performed.  As testicular production of sex hormones wanes with age, adrenal hormone balance plays a central role in sustaining optimal hormonal health.

Why Use Saliva Testing for Male and Female Hormone Panel?

Picture

Saliva testing is an easy and noninvasive way of assessing your patient's hormone status and balancing needs and is proving to be the most reliable medium for measuring hormone levels. Appreciating the reliability of saliva testing is based on understanding the difference between steroid hormones in saliva and serum. This difference is based on whether or not the hormones are bound to proteins in the medium used for testing. Those which are protein bound do not fit those receptors and are considered non-bio-available. When blood is filtered through the salivary glands, the bound hormone components are too large to pass through the cell membranes. Only the unbound hormones pass through and into the saliva. What is measured in the saliva is the bio-available hormone, the clinically relevant portion which will be delivered to the receptors in the tissues of the body.

Using saliva samples, the Male Hormone Panel test includes testosterone, DHEA, progesterone, estradiol, and cortisol panels.

Using the Male Hormone Panel to Balance Hormones

Maintaining optimum male health in the face of fluctuating or declining hormone levels requires a careful balance between the hormones produced by your body and hormone replacements. Using oral supplements, patches, injections, or skin implants, our professionals can easily contrlabrixol the amounts of replacement hormone to achieve an appropriate balance. Over time, adjustments of androgen hormone levels can restore alertness, vigor, and lean muscle mass, while reducing abdominal fat and producing a feeling of overall well being.

Your hormones all work together to create an environment of balance and harmony.  An imbalance of one can affect them all!

Prescription Appetite Suppressant

We use time-tested prescription appetite suppressant medication PHENTERMINE Hydrochloride (HCL) that has been approved by FDA since 1959. Since the 1970s, Phentermine has dominated the market and has been proven safe and effective for more than 50 years.

About PHENTERMINE

PHENTERMINE Hydrochloride (HCL) is used along with a doctor-approved, reduced-calorie diet, exercise, and behavior change program to assist in weight loss. This medication is an appetite suppressant and belongs to a class of drugs called sympathomimetic amines. Phentermine is a Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved weight loss drug which affect both mood and appetite. It is in the sympathomimetic family of appetite suppressants (used for the short-term management of exogenous obesity). Losing weight and keeping it off can reduce the many health risks that come with obesity, including heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, and a shorter life. When used in conjunction with diet, exercise, and behavior therapy, phentermine assists you to lose weight while you are learning new ways to eat and to exercise.

Phentermine works by stimulating the hypothalamus gland and affecting certain neurotransmitters to decrease appetite. The hypothalamus is the region of the brain that controls the autonomic nervous system, regulating sleep cycles, body temperature, appetite, etc. For maximum effects of Phentermine, it must be used in conjunction with a reduced-calorie diet and/or exercise program. Any modifications in your diet, activity level, and behavior must be developed and continued long-term in order to continue losing weight and prevent the lost weight from returning.

At SLIM NOW-Rx, we utilize a state of the art body composition scale on every patient at every visit. More than just a physician’s scale, this complex piece of equipment utilizes electrical impedance (the body’s ability to conduct an electrical charge) to determine each patient’s body fat percentage and lean body mass. This information allows our healthcare providers to make sure you are losing unsightly fat and not healthy muscle mass. In case you were worried – it is completely painless!
The first step is to assess whether or not your current weight is healthy.

How can I tell if I'm at a healthy weight?

Adult Body Mass Index or BMI

One way to begin to determine whether your weight is a healthy one is to calculate your "body mass index" (BMI). For most people, BMI is a reliable indicator of body fatness. It is calculated based on your height and weight. To calculate your BMI, see the following BMI Formula.

Formula: weight (lb) / [height (in)]2 x 703

Calculation: [weight (lb) / height (in) / height (in)] x 703

• If your BMI is less than 18.5, it falls within the "underweight" range.
• If your BMI is 18.5 to 24.9, it falls within the "normal" or Healthy Weight range.
• If your BMI is 25.0 to 29.9, it falls within the "overweight" range.
• If your BMI is 30.0 or higher, it falls within the "obese" range. "Underweight", "normal", "overweight", and "obese" are all labels for ranges of weight.

Obese and overweight describe ranges of weight that are greater than what is considered healthy for a given height, while underweight describes a weight that is lower than what is considered healthy. If your BMI falls outside of the "normal" or Healthy Weight range, you may want to talk to your doctor or health care provider about how you might achieve a healthier body weight. Obesity and overweight have been shown to increase the likelihood of certain diseases and other health problems. At an individual level, BMI can be used as a screening tool but is not a diagnostic of the body fatness or health of an individual. A trained healthcare provider should perform appropriate health assessments in order to evaluate an individual's health status and risks. Being overweight or obese can increase your chances of developing certain diseases. Your health care provider can help you assess your risk factors and offer guidance on losing weight. Choosing a lifestyle that includes good eating habits and daily physical activity can prevent weight gain.

SEMAGLUTIDE IS AN APPROVED MEDICATION FOR WEIGHT LOSS

What is Semaglutide

Semaglutide is an approved injectable for weight loss.  Semaglutide is used to treat Type 2 diabetes and to help with chronic weight management.  Semaglutide is a GLP1 receptor agonist. GLP1 is an incretin hormone that increases insulin and decreases glucagon (the hormone that signals hunger), which decreases blood sugar. Gastric emptying is also delayed, causing signals to be sent to the brain that the stomach is full. Our Semaglutide is compounded with an active pharmaceutical ingredient, Semaglutide, and not the sodium salt form.

Semaglutide is indicated for:

  • Controlling blood sugar in type 2 diabetes
  • Reducing stroke, heart attack, and death in patients with type 2 diabetes and known heart disease
  • Weight loss

What are the side effects of Semaglutide

The most common side effects of semaglutide are GI related which includes mild fatigue, intermittent nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, dizziness, feeling bloated, belching, gas, heartburn, constipation, upset stomach, and headaches.

Although rare, what are serious side effects of Semaglutide

  • Inflammation of the pancreas
  • Gallbladder problems
  • Increased risk of low blood sugar (hypoglycemia)
  • Kidney problems
  • Thyroid tumors
  • Serious allergic reactions
  • Increased heart rate
  • Depression or thoughts of suicide

How do you get rid of Semaglutide side effects

Eating smaller meals, avoiding high-fat foods, and remaining upright after you eat can also help manage potential nausea and vomiting from semaglutide.

  • Non-medication related tips: Increase soluble fiber (beans, oats, peas, apples, pears, carrots)
  • Increase insoluble fiber (wheat, nuts, beans, cauliflower, green beans, potatoes, avocados
  • Over-the-Counter options: Imodium, Pepto-Bismol, Magnesium Citrate, Miralax, Metamucil

How to administer Semaglutide

It is recommended to inject on the same day, at the same time each week.  It can be injected with or without meals.  The injection is subcutaneous into the abdomen, thigh, and/or back of the arm.

  • Wash your hands with soap and warm water to prevent potential infection.
  • Clean the skin with an alcohol swab. Let the alcohol dry thoroughly before doing the injection
  • Pinch your skin by taking a big pinch of skin between your thumb and index finger and hold it. The thumb and forefinger should be about and inch and a half apart. This pulls the fatty tissue away from the muscle and makes the injection easier.
  • Inject the needle into the pinched skin at a 90 degree angle.
  • Slowly push the plunger to inject the medication.
  • Let go of the pinched skin and withdraw the needle.
  • Discard the used needle in a sharp's container.

WE OFFER AN ARRAY OF INJECTION THERAPY TREATMENTS

Why are Therapeutic Injections so Important during Weight Loss?

Picture

The therapeutic injections are an alternative method to the traditional liposuction procedure. The injections are meant to deplete fat deposits from the body and assist with "problem areas" that are generally difficult to lose weight in, such as the abdomen and buttocks. Like any weight-loss process, results vary depending on the number of areas treated and the reaction to the amino acids, nucleotides and coenzymes to the person's body.

Many have found the injections contributed greatly to their weight-loss success. Results will vary depending on diet and exercise of the individual. Patients who have received the injection are placed on a specific diet and exercise program to increase weight loss. Preserving lean muscle mass during a weight loss phase can be accomplished by eating a high protein diet. Amino acids are the main building blocks of lean muscle building in the body. This not only keeps your body lean but burns more calories. (HINT: a pound of muscle burns 25% more calories than a pound of fat).
